Molly Bowling practices at Engelmeier & Umanah, P.A. law firm’s office located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Prior to the practice of law, she worked for a decade in Human Resources, which provided her with an intimate understanding of employment practices, labor and employment law and knowledge about how to best serve her clients whether advocating for employees rights or helping employers comply with the law and optimize employee performance. Molly’s background results in a deep understanding of hiring and firing intricacies, FMLA and accommodation complexities, policy drafting and disciplinary strategies that avoid claims. While in law school, she was selected as the Student Director of the Employment and Discrimination Clinic at Mitchell Hamline School of Law advocating for plaintiffs at mediation with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Molly previously held professional positions at both defense and plaintiff firms in the Twin Cities working on a wide range of labor and employment litigation and consulting matters. She had the great privilege of interning at the EEOC in the Mediation Division and collaborating with Ruby Simelton-Jones, giving her deep insight into mediating employment disputes. She was also the President of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Society and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Molly is a 114 Qualified Neutral and has mediated several disputes by herself between employers and employees, supporting their ability to find common ground to avoid extended litigation. In her labor and employment work, Molly helps clients and third parties avoid litigation, when possible, by resolving allegations relating to violations of discrimination, harassment, FMLA and accommodation law, mediates disputes and helps navigate other labor and employment issues. Of course, when a fight is necessary, Molly is ready to bring her considerable experience to bear to assist her client advocate for their position.
